Jazz-lovers rejoice, because the inaugural Soweto Jazz Festival is set to take place this June.
From Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th June, the Joburg City Theatre’s state of the art Soweto Theatre will be the home for the festival. The event will utilise the entire Soweto Theatre compound with in-door and outdoor stages housing some of the most celebrated names in music.
The event aims to primarily attract Pan African, North American and Caribbean tourism, as well as launch a mentor program for young people seeking to gain experience and skills in the live entertainment business. There will also be an entire day dedicated to the recognition of women with workshops, panels and information exchange programs.
The line-up across the four days will see acts such as The Neville Brothers, Bob James, Charlie Wilson, and Third World take to the stage.
